I’ve been practicing psychology since 1989. My work has primarily consisted of psychological assessment and psychotherapy. I’ve been in private practice throughout my career. I have extensive training and experience working with children, adolescents, and adult for assessment and treatment. I’m trained and experienced in family therapy techniques, and conceptualize problems from a systems perspective [what’s going on for the student, within their relational environment that causes them difficulty]. I love my job! Each individual I meet gives me a greater appreciation for the grand human mosaic.

Current Practice

Assessment: I assess children, adolescents, and young adults. I evaluate psychological issues, which can affect school and life performance. My goal is to empower students and family members to find the right tools they need for their greatest achievement level. Issues addressed include learning problems, emotional difficulties, and behavioral challenges. When appropriate, evaluations will provide more than adequate documentation for extended time on SAT, GRE or other time-limited formal exams. Each assessment identifies not only challenges but will clearly detail a person’s strengths/gifts that they can bring to address their challenges.

Follow-up/treatment: Based on each evaluation I generate practical recommendations for interventions/ plans, to address the person’s challenges and create momentum and hope for their desired changes. I provide recommendations to schools, teachers, tutors/coaches, and parents. I also provide individual treatment to aid in increasing productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency.

I also do therapy when I have not conducted a formal assessment.

I view therapy as a collaboration that celebrates the idea that, “Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.” – Soren Kierkegaard –
